CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 16 years of age. In the case we discover that a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do the necessary actions.

Location data
Our BuildSmart mobile applications may collect and process location data when you use location-based features.
Types of location data we collect
Depending on your device settings and permissions, we may collect:
- Approximate location — for example, based on network or Wi-Fi.
- Precise location — for example, GPS or similar technologies.
- Background location — location collected when the app is running in the background, if you have granted “Allow all the time” / “Always” permission.
Note: You control these via your device’s location permissions.
How we use location data
We use location data only to provide ERP and workforce-management features, including:
- Showing the live location of field staff to authorised users in the BuildSmart web / admin modules.
- Maintaining visit history, trip logs, and route information for employees while they are on duty.
- Supporting attendance, task tracking, and operational reports for your organisation.
- Improving route planning and field operations for our enterprise customers.
We do not use location data for general consumer advertising, and we do not sell your location data to third parties.
Background location
When you enable features such as “Check In”, “Check Out”, or similar tracking options inside the app, the app may continue to collect your location in the background (even if the app is minimised), solely for:
- Updating your live location for your organisation; and
- Maintaining accurate visit / route history for the selected duty period.
Where supported by your device, a notification or status indicator will show that location is being used. You can stop tracking at any time from within the app (for example, by ending duty / checking out) or by changing your device’s location permissions.
Sharing of location data
Location data is shared only with:
- Our organisation (your employer / company) that uses BuildSmart; and
- Our service providers (such as hosting, analytics, and support providers) who help us deliver and improve our services and are bound by appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
We do not sell your location data.
Retention of location data
Location data is retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes above (for example, trip logs and audit trails required by your organisation), and as required by applicable law or contract. Where possible, we may anonymise or aggregate location data for analytics once it is no longer needed in identifiable form.
